The importance of a broad perspective
Many consultants approach a situation from a single area of expertise: sales or marketing, technology or process. Someone once said “if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.”
The single-dimensional approach can give short term improvements that will soon fade.
Getting immediate results that are sustainable over the long term requires addressing the cross-functional needs of the organization. That’s what we do.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is your ideal client?
We specialize in helping business-to-business product and service companies. Generally there is a technology component to the business. We serve companies in the software & IT services, scientific, industrial and manufacturing sectors.
We find that small to mid sized companies are best able to leverage our services. Typically, companies with revenues of $5M-50M run into the types of growth challenges we address and don’t have large corporate resources to draw on for help.
From a geographical perspective, we work with companies throughout New England and the Mid-Atlantic states.
How much do you charge?
First, it’s important to understand how we charge. We generally work on a project basis that is a fixed-price so you know the costs ahead of time. We find that charging by the hour can become an obstacle for working together. Once we agree on the value then we can simply concentrate on getting the job done.
Our prices are in line with compensation levels for similar senior team members on the CEO’s staff-but focused for the specific project at hand.
Do you put “skin in the game?”
Yes. Together we establish performance measures and growth targets during an initial assessment phase that are used to establish shared project goals. We will tie a portion of our fees for implementation projects to successfully reaching these goals.
Why don’t you name your clients?
We think it keeps our interests aligned with our clients. Most of our clients also appreciate that they can work with us discreetly.
